Cover Reveal: Ballad of the Beanstalk

Hello! I’m so excited to share with you the cover for Amy McNulty’s new book, Ballad of the Beanstalk! This YA romantic fantasy fairy tale is a prequel to Jack and the Beanstalk. I read this one last year and it’s SO GOOD. And check out the amazing cover created by Makeready Designs.

As her fingers move across the strings of her family’s heirloom harp, sixteen-year-old Clarion can forget. She doesn’t dwell on the recent passing of her beloved father or the fact that her mother has just sold everything they owned, including that very same instrument that gives Clarion life. She doesn’t think about how her friends treat her like a feeble, brittle thing to be protected. She doesn’t worry about how to tell the elegant Elena, her best friend and first love, that she doesn’t want to be her sweetheart anymore. She becomes the melody and loses herself in the song.

When Mack, a lord’s dashing young son, rides into town so his father and Elena’s can arrange a marriage between the two youth, Clarion finds herself falling in love with a boy for the first time. Drawn to Clarion’s music, Mack puts Clarion and Elena’s relationship to the test, but he soon vanishes by climbing up a giant beanstalk that only Clarion has seen. When even the town witch won’t help, Clarion is determined to rescue Mack herself and prove once and for all that she doesn’t need protecting. But while she fancied herself a savior, she couldn’t have imagined the enormous world of danger that awaits her in the kingdom of the clouds.

A prequel to the fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk that reveals the true story behind the magical singing harp.

Cover Reveal: The Burning Chaos

I’m so, so excited to share the cover of The Burning Chaos! In fact, I was supposed to do the reveal in May, but once I saw it I knew I couldn’t wait any longer!

And I’m not going to be mean and tease you and make you scroll down and down and down…

The Burning Chaos_Final-high

Isn’t it BEAUTIFUL?!?! When I first saw it, I screamed. How could I not?! I asked Regina Wamba of Mae I Designs for fire AND snow and to give it a darker feel since this IS a dark book, and she totally nailed it. Why the fire? Why the snow? Why am I calling this a dark book? Well, you’re just going to have to read it, aren’t you?

I have another treat for you; the full wrap. Let me warn you, though, that the blurb contains spoilers for The Fading Dusk, so if you haven’t read the first book yet, don’t read the blurb! But you can still look at and admire the gorgeous wrap!

The Burning Chaos_Final

Two months after Bantheir’s betrayal, Irina is learning how to live in a world where magic is not only real, but a part of her everyday life. As a spy for Parnaby, the shadowy president of the city of Dusk, Irina has to pretend Parnaby’s manipulation magic worked on her and she doesn’t remember his horrifying proclamation about Vernen. If her friend, brought back from the dead by an ancient source of magic, begins to show even a hint of magic, Parnaby will kill him without hesitation.

When a mysterious woman named Aeonia confronts Irina, she threatens to tell Parnaby everything Irina is hiding from him if Irina doesn’t steal a magical artifact from the president’s mansion. Knowing she’s the only one who can protect Vernen, Irina agrees to Aeonia’s demands, but she wonders if this ultimate betrayal will destroy her newfound happiness with Leonid—and get her killed in the process.

With elements of magic, mystery, and murder, The Burning Chaos takes readers on a dangerous journey through Dusk, introducing them to new characters and reuniting them with old favorites. Can Irina stay one step ahead of everyone and save Vernen? Or is she doomed to succumb to the magic she once loved but now despises?

*flails* I love everything about it. The deteriorating frame, the birds, Dusk in the background. It captures the essence of this book perfectly!

The Burning Chaos is out July 12th!

What’s that? You want to see all three books in the Smoke and Mirrors series together? I can do that!

Cover Reveal: Nobody’s Lady

I’m so excited to share the cover for the next book in Amy McNulty’s Never Veil series, Nobody’s Lady! I think I love this one ever more than the first one. Take a look and tell me what you think!

Nobody's Lady Smaller

Gorgeous, right? I love Noll’s expression!

For the first time in a thousand years, the men in Noll’s village possess the freedom to love whom they will. In order to give each man the chance to fully explore his feelings, the lord of the village decrees all marriages null and void until both spouses declare their love for one another and their desire to wed again. What many women think will be a simple matter becomes a source of village-wide tension as most men decide to leave their families and responsibilities behind.

Rejected by the lord and ashamed of her part in the village’s history, Noll withdraws from her family and lives life as an independent woodcarver. This changes when her sister accuses her of hiding her former husband Jurij from her—and when Jurij eventually does ask to move in. Determined not to make the same mistakes, Noll decides to support her male friends through their new emotional experiences, but she’s soon caught up in a darker plot than she ever dared imagine possible from the men she thought she knew so well. And the lord for whom she still has feelings may be hiding the most frightening truth of them all.

I’ve read this one and it’s fantastic, folks. Mark your calendars; it’s out April 12th. That’s not too far away!!

Cover Reveal: The Fading Dusk

Today is the day. The cover of THE FADING DUSK is here, and I’m so excited to share it with you!

The idea for THE FADING DUSK came from a conversation I was having with my dad. I don’t, unfortunately, remember what we were talking about, but the term “smoke and mirrors” came up. For some reason that made me picture a girl wandering the streets of a city (not a present day city, but like something from the Victorian era). Who was she? What was she doing there? That image of the girl in the city stayed with me through the entire first draft and beyond, and I’m absolutely thrilled that Regina Wamba of Mae I Designs captured it perfectly with this stunning cover!

Okay, enough talking. You’re probably not even reading this! Without further ado, I present to you the gorgeous cover of THE FADING DUSK!

The Fading Dusk_Final_high

What do you think?! Do you love it as much as I do??? Like I said, Regina nailed it. The buildings and the foggy atmosphere and that awesome frame and the birds (so important) and IRINA’S HAIR. Her hair is so perfect! I am absolutely in love with this cover!

Here’s the full wrap (the back is gorgeous too!):

The Fading Dusk_Final

In the gritty city of Dusk, seventeen-year-old Irina makes her living as the street magician Bantheir’s assistant. The job isn’t glamorous, but she loves the crowds, the shows, and most of all, the illusion of magic. But Irina’s world is shattered the night she is arrested and charged as Bantheir’s accomplice to murder—murder by magic.

Real magic, the kind that’s been forbidden since the old wars.

Irina finds the idea of flashy showman Bantheir using actual magic to kill someone laughable, but she’s the only one who sees how ridiculous the claim is. But how can she convince everyone Bantheir is innocent when they’ve already made up their minds? Desperate, Irina must decide who she can trust to help her win her freedom. Is the surly, handsome Captain Leonid telling the truth when he says he believes Irina is innocent, or is he just using her to get to Bantheir? What about Aden, the sweet soldier and longtime fan of Irina’s who claims he’s on her side?

Irina said she wanted to know the truth, but when she stumbles across a dark secret that changes everything, will she be strong enough to survive?

THE FADING DUSK is coming July 21st, 2015. That’s just two months from today! You can add it to your Goodreads to-read list, and check back here (or on my Twitter or Facebook) for links to buy it as we get closer to its release date. And don’t forget to look at the Pinterest board!

Cover Reveal for The Shadow Stealer!

So here we are. I’m about to unveil the very last cover for the very last book in the Silver Moon Saga. That’s both bittersweet and crazy. Did I ever think, those forty-two days I spent writing the first draft of THE SIGHT SEER, that I’d publish not one, not two, but FIVE books about Gabi and her demon-hunting friends? No, definitely not. So thank you to everyone who has joined me on this adventure. You are the reason I love this writing thing. 🙂

And now, without further ado, I present to you the gorgeous, stunning cover of THE SHADOW STEALER. I won’t even make you scroll down to see it.

The Shadow Stealer (Medium)

And there it is. What do you think?! Do you love it as much as I do? Because, and don’t tell the other four covers I said this, but this one right here is my favorite. Her expression, the way she’s looking at you dead in the eye as she glances over her shoulder… Even the green background (is she in her garden? A forest? Somewhere else?) is perfect. I literally just stared at my computer, my mouth ajar, when I opened my email and saw this for the first time. A huge, huge thank you to Rue Volley for giving me five beautiful covers.

THE SHADOW STEALER releases February 27th! The blurb is up on Goodreads, but here it is in case you haven’t seen it yet:

Ever since that fateful night Gabi Saw her first demon, she’s been questioning who and, better yet, what she is. When given a chance to find the answers she seeks, she seizes it, even if it means putting herself—and her beloved friends—in danger.

From upstate New York to the streets of Manhattan, Gabi chases after the truth that has, until this point, remained out of reach. But when her whole world shatters, Gabi wonders if it would have been better to remain ignorant. Because once you know the truth, there’s no going back.

In the final installment of the Silver Moon Saga, the stakes are higher than they’ve ever been for Gabi and her friends, and no one’s guaranteed a happy ending. Will Gabi triumph or will the shadows claim her for their own?

This is one of the longest books I’ve ever written, and if you’ve been following me on here and Facebook, then you know I struggled with it for almost all of last year. But the more a book fights me, the more I end up loving it (well, I spend a lot of time cursing it out, too). I hope that you will enjoy it, too!

That’s not all! To celebrate the end of the Silver Moon Saga, I’ve decided to host a contest. Click the link below for a chance to win a SIGNED paperback copy of THE SIGHT SEER, the book that started everything. The contest will run until February 2nd, and it is open INTERNATIONALLY. I’ll throw in some book swag too, which includes stickers and a signed mini-poster.

Enter to win a signed copy of THE SIGHT SEER!

Good luck and happy reading!

Contest is over! Thanks for playing!

Stay tuned!
