Cover Reveal: Nobody’s Lady

I’m so excited to share the cover for the next book in Amy McNulty’s Never Veil series, Nobody’s Lady! I think I love this one ever more than the first one. Take a look and tell me what you think!

Nobody's Lady Smaller

Gorgeous, right? I love Noll’s expression!

For the first time in a thousand years, the men in Noll’s village possess the freedom to love whom they will. In order to give each man the chance to fully explore his feelings, the lord of the village decrees all marriages null and void until both spouses declare their love for one another and their desire to wed again. What many women think will be a simple matter becomes a source of village-wide tension as most men decide to leave their families and responsibilities behind.

Rejected by the lord and ashamed of her part in the village’s history, Noll withdraws from her family and lives life as an independent woodcarver. This changes when her sister accuses her of hiding her former husband Jurij from her—and when Jurij eventually does ask to move in. Determined not to make the same mistakes, Noll decides to support her male friends through their new emotional experiences, but she’s soon caught up in a darker plot than she ever dared imagine possible from the men she thought she knew so well. And the lord for whom she still has feelings may be hiding the most frightening truth of them all.

I’ve read this one and it’s fantastic, folks. Mark your calendars; it’s out April 12th. That’s not too far away!!

Add the book to your Goodreads page!

You can also preorder the paperback (and hold that beautiful cover in your hands and drool over it)!

Cover Reveal: The Fading Dusk

Today is the day. The cover of THE FADING DUSK is here, and I’m so excited to share it with you!

The idea for THE FADING DUSK came from a conversation I was having with my dad. I don’t, unfortunately, remember what we were talking about, but the term “smoke and mirrors” came up. For some reason that made me picture a girl wandering the streets of a city (not a present day city, but like something from the Victorian era). Who was she? What was she doing there? That image of the girl in the city stayed with me through the entire first draft and beyond, and I’m absolutely thrilled that Regina Wamba of Mae I Designs captured it perfectly with this stunning cover!

Okay, enough talking. You’re probably not even reading this! Without further ado, I present to you the gorgeous cover of THE FADING DUSK!

The Fading Dusk_Final_high

What do you think?! Do you love it as much as I do??? Like I said, Regina nailed it. The buildings and the foggy atmosphere and that awesome frame and the birds (so important) and IRINA’S HAIR. Her hair is so perfect! I am absolutely in love with this cover!

Here’s the full wrap (the back is gorgeous too!):

The Fading Dusk_Final

In the gritty city of Dusk, seventeen-year-old Irina makes her living as the street magician Bantheir’s assistant. The job isn’t glamorous, but she loves the crowds, the shows, and most of all, the illusion of magic. But Irina’s world is shattered the night she is arrested and charged as Bantheir’s accomplice to murder—murder by magic.

Real magic, the kind that’s been forbidden since the old wars.

Irina finds the idea of flashy showman Bantheir using actual magic to kill someone laughable, but she’s the only one who sees how ridiculous the claim is. But how can she convince everyone Bantheir is innocent when they’ve already made up their minds? Desperate, Irina must decide who she can trust to help her win her freedom. Is the surly, handsome Captain Leonid telling the truth when he says he believes Irina is innocent, or is he just using her to get to Bantheir? What about Aden, the sweet soldier and longtime fan of Irina’s who claims he’s on her side?

Irina said she wanted to know the truth, but when she stumbles across a dark secret that changes everything, will she be strong enough to survive?

THE FADING DUSK is coming July 21st, 2015. That’s just two months from today! You can add it to your Goodreads to-read list, and check back here (or on my Twitter or Facebook) for links to buy it as we get closer to its release date. And don’t forget to look at the Pinterest board!

Tell me what you think!

Cover Reveal for The Shadow Stealer!

So here we are. I’m about to unveil the very last cover for the very last book in the Silver Moon Saga. That’s both bittersweet and crazy. Did I ever think, those forty-two days I spent writing the first draft of THE SIGHT SEER, that I’d publish not one, not two, but FIVE books about Gabi and her demon-hunting friends? No, definitely not. So thank you to everyone who has joined me on this adventure. You are the reason I love this writing thing. 🙂

And now, without further ado, I present to you the gorgeous, stunning cover of THE SHADOW STEALER. I won’t even make you scroll down to see it.

The Shadow Stealer (Medium)

And there it is. What do you think?! Do you love it as much as I do? Because, and don’t tell the other four covers I said this, but this one right here is my favorite. Her expression, the way she’s looking at you dead in the eye as she glances over her shoulder… Even the green background (is she in her garden? A forest? Somewhere else?) is perfect. I literally just stared at my computer, my mouth ajar, when I opened my email and saw this for the first time. A huge, huge thank you to Rue Volley for giving me five beautiful covers.

THE SHADOW STEALER releases February 27th! The blurb is up on Goodreads, but here it is in case you haven’t seen it yet:

Ever since that fateful night Gabi Saw her first demon, she’s been questioning who and, better yet, what she is. When given a chance to find the answers she seeks, she seizes it, even if it means putting herself—and her beloved friends—in danger.

From upstate New York to the streets of Manhattan, Gabi chases after the truth that has, until this point, remained out of reach. But when her whole world shatters, Gabi wonders if it would have been better to remain ignorant. Because once you know the truth, there’s no going back.

In the final installment of the Silver Moon Saga, the stakes are higher than they’ve ever been for Gabi and her friends, and no one’s guaranteed a happy ending. Will Gabi triumph or will the shadows claim her for their own?

This is one of the longest books I’ve ever written, and if you’ve been following me on here and Facebook, then you know I struggled with it for almost all of last year. But the more a book fights me, the more I end up loving it (well, I spend a lot of time cursing it out, too). I hope that you will enjoy it, too!

That’s not all! To celebrate the end of the Silver Moon Saga, I’ve decided to host a contest. Click the link below for a chance to win a SIGNED paperback copy of THE SIGHT SEER, the book that started everything. The contest will run until February 2nd, and it is open INTERNATIONALLY. I’ll throw in some book swag too, which includes stickers and a signed mini-poster.

Enter to win a signed copy of THE SIGHT SEER!

Good luck and happy reading!

Contest is over! Thanks for playing!

Stay tuned!

I’ll be revealing the cover for THE SHADOW STEALER right here Monday morning! Everyone who’s seen it so far said they love it, and I agree. Out of the five beautiful covers Rue Volley has designed for me, this one is definitely my favorite.

Cover Reveal: A Promise of Magic

So as you all know from this post, A PROMISE OF MAGIC is coming out NEXT WEEK. This means things are moving along very quickly now and it’s time for a cover reveal!

But should I post the blurb first? I don’t know. You guys probably don’t even read anything that comes before the cover. Am I right? Are you even reading this? Hello?

Okay, fine, I’ll share the cover first, and then the blurb. Without further ado, I present to you the gorgeous cover of A PROMISE OF MAGIC:

MELISSA2 (Medium)

How beautiful is this cover? I’m absolutely in love with it, as I’m sure the rest–

Evan: HEY. Wait a second here!

Evan?!? Where did you come from?

Evan: Sweetheart, I’ve been here the entire time. Watching and waiting for the cover of MY book to be shared. But what the heck is this?! Why is GABI on the cover and not me?

Gabi: Duh, I’m the main character.

Evan: You’re the main character of the other books, but not this one. A PROMISE OF MAGIC is MY story. Just read the blurb!

Oh, right. The blurb I was about to share until you rudely decided to hijack my blog…

As a child growing up in California, Evan Underwood only has a basic knowledge of Silver Moon, the organization that keeps the world safe from demons. After accidentally setting his parents’ house on fire with magic, he’s sent to the New York Silver Moon HQ to learn how to control his powers. Frustrated by his teacher’s refusal to show him anything beyond magical theory, Evan decides it’s time to take matters into his own hands. But teaching himself magic isn’t as easy as Evan imagined, and it’s during one of these practice sessions that he’s discovered by Alexandra Chen, a strange girl Evan finds both frustrating and alluring. Making a promise to show Alex magic, Evan is determined to live up to her expectations, even if it means breaking a few rules in the process. But when things backfire, Evan must rely on his friends to help free him from the clutches of a new, sinister character.

A Promise of Magic spans the course of eight years, and readers will delight in the appearances of old friends and new characters as Evan navigates his life through the busy streets of New York. With two bonus stories that set up The Shadow Stealer, the final book in the series, Silver Moon Saga fans are in for a real treat.

Evan: SEE?! Gabi’s name isn’t even mentioned in the blurb! I’m the star, so where’s the cover featuring my gorgeous face?!

I did make you this one yesterday:

promisefakecoverEvan: Okay, let’s use that one.

Gabi: NO WAY. I don’t care if the majority of the book is about you, my face is still going on the cover! You owe me, Evan!

Evan: Owe you? Why the heck would I owe you?

Gabi: *throws a copy of THE SOUL HEALER at Evan*

Evan: Oh. Right. Maybe I do owe you.

Gabi: *beams*

Is everything squared away, you two? Can I have my blog back now?

Evan: Yeah, yeah, fine. Whatever. Let Gabi have her covers. We all know the real reason why I’m not on it.

Gabi: I’m almost afraid to ask.

Evan: I’m too hot, of course. Girls and boys alike would faint if they feasted their eyes on my beautiful face for too long. It would cause a worldwide panic!

Gabi: Sure, that’s exactly why. Keep telling yourself that.

Evan: It’s true!

AHEM. *pushes them out of here* Sorry about that. I hope you enjoyed today’s cover reveal, and remember, only ELEVEN more days until A PROMISE OF MAGIC!!

And now I’ll let Shay tell you about her upcoming novel!

Hey all!

As your reward for finding me, I want to share my Peter Pan spin-off novel, Never, with you! It isn’t set to come out until November 4th but because you are awesome and participating in this crazy scavenger hunt, I thought you deserved a sneak peek. Also, because I want to get you guys extra excited about Never, I’m going to share a teaser of my book cover. My actual cover reveal isn’t until November 1st so you guys are getting an extremely exclusive first look.

First, a little about Never:

Wynn Harper spends her days trying to blend into the background. This isn’t very easy, especially being the great granddaughter of the late Wendy Darling. Wynn used to love Great Gran’s stories about her adventures in Neverland with Peter Pan and his lost boys, but that’s all they were. Just stories, right? That’s what Wynn keeps telling herself.

But then she meets Peter, the beautiful boy with a voice to match, and when he whisks her off to Neverland, Wynn knows this is no fairy tale. The lost boys are a group of rebellious ex-pirates, young Hook has a soft side, and Peter Pan isn’t as innocent as you might think.

Here’s an exclusive excerpt. When Wynn meets Peter.

“What’s it like in Neverland?” I asked after we had been flying in silence for a while. Peter’s hand tightened more around my own frozen fingers. I couldn’t feel my body anymore. I could’ve been missing both my legs and I wouldn’t even notice until we got to Neverland and I’d discover I was a couple feet shorter.

“Different,” he said looking over to meet my eyes.

“How do you mean?”

I watched as he swiveled his body and was suddenly under me, floating on his back. What would happen if I just let go of his hand? I would collide with him, he could wrap his arms around me and maybe I could lay my head on that soft orange t-shirt. I bet I’d be able to feel the ridges of his chest with my cheek. Something told me there was a body of a seventeen year old god under those clothes. Wow, maybe a dunk in that frigid ocean below would do me some good.

Peter cleared his throat and a smirk appeared on his face. He must have noticed my eyes trailing thoughtfully down his body. “It just is,” he finally said and laid my hand on his shirt so it was flat under his. Yep, I could feel the hard lines of his chest. “You’ll see for yourself soon.”

“Soon?” I asked giving him a confused look. “I thought the saying goes ‘straight on till morning.’ It isn’t even eleven yet.”

Peter tipped his head back so he was looking in the direction we were headed. “Think again.”

I lifted my head and saw the horizon glowing with morning light. The moon was still high and bright, the stars were still shining brilliantly, yet the sky down far ahead was beginning to fade to a pale blue as the sun slowly rose. In the distance I could make out a break in the horizon. Dips and peaks made up of mountains and valleys rose up from the water like a tiny hopeful beat on a heart monitor with a dead line.

And finally, a sneak peek at my beautiful cover, made by Kellie Dennis with Book Cover by Design (bookcoverbydesign.co.uk):

BEA 2014

Happy June! According to WordPress, this blog turned two. I can’t believe it’s been two years already!

I also can’t believe that another BEA has come and gone. Yep, for the third year in a row, I was over at the Javits Center surrounded by books and book lovers. I ended up with forty-eight new books (that’s the same amount I got last year!) that I can’t wait to read. Want to see what I got?

day1Day One-I thought my arms were going to break carrying all of this! (7 of these are signed)

day2Day Two-9 of these are signed!

day3Day Three-Just one signed this time

I’m excited because a lot of these are YA contemporary, which I’m definitely in the mood for right now! There’s something about the summer that makes me want to read contemporary novels. But what do I read first? Usually I pretty much grab whatever book catches my eye and go from there, but sometimes I have a hard time choosing! I’ve seen my friends make lists of what to read during which month, and I’m going to try that method out. I’ll let you know if that works for me! I hope to get through a large chunk of them this summer since I’m in a huge reading mood and haven’t had a chance to read much this year, but it all depends on how my writing and editing goes with the final two books in the Silver Moon Saga! Last week was spent writing the last story for the second novella, and after I finish that, it’s time for another read of the final book. I have my work cut out for me, but I hope to be done by the end of the month or early next month!

It’s always sad when BEA is over, since I pretty much spend the entire year looking forward to it. But after three days of trekking to the Javits center, dealing with crowds, and carrying bags stuffed with books, it was nice to come home and relax! Now I’m literally surrounded by books (my bookshelf is full, so I have piles on my desk and dresser) and it’s amazing. I love it.

By the way, I joined Instagram, so feel free to follow me to see more BEA pictures. And dessert. I like posting pictures of desserts!

I will probably be quiet again, especially with all the writing and editing I have planned, but I do make an effort to update both my Facebook author page and my Twitter on a daily basis.

Cover Reveal: PICTURE THIS by Jayne Denker

Today I’m excited to share the cover of Jayne Denker’s upcoming novel, PICTURE THIS.

Picture This (eBook)

Aww, it’s so sweet! And it definitely makes me wish it was warm enough to wear short sleeves and shorts!

PICTURE THIS is the second book in Jayne’s small-town rom com series set in the fictional town of Marsden, NY. The first was DOWN ON LOVE. Out July 17, 2104, you can preorder it now!

Here’s the blurb:
It’s where everyone knows your business—and remembers everything you’d rather forget. But somehow the little Catskills town of Marsden draws the most unlikely people back home, turns their lives every which way, and helps them finally figure out what—and who—they want most…As a celebrity photographer’s assistant, Celia Marshall is used to seeing all kinds of weird antics. But subbing as the model in irrepressible movie star Niall Crenshaw’s latest endorsement ad—while wearing his silk boxers, no less—is definitely not in her job description. Neither is falling for him, especially since he’s dating his latest co-star. To complicate things further, Celia is returning to Marsden to keep an eye on her eccentric grandmother—and Niall is driving her there, then staying to judge a talent contest…Soon Celia is pulled in a dozen different directions, trying to get her grandmother to act her age, placating her frantic former boss who’s organizing the contest—and attempting to stay away from funny, sexy Niall. Celia’s always been level headed, but suddenly she’s wishing she could get reckless right along with him. Has the time come for sensible Celia to cut loose?

Preorder PICTURE THIS here:
Jayne Denker divides her time between working hard to bring the funny in her romantic comedies and raising a young son who’s way too clever for his own good. She lives in a small village in western New York that is in no way, shape, or form related to the small village in her Marsden novels Down on Love and Picture This. When she’s not hard at work on another novel, the social media addict can usually be found frittering away startling amounts of time on Facebook (Jayne Denker Author) and Twitter (@JDenkerAuthor). Cover Reveal: The Soul Healer

So… Who’s ready for another cover reveal???

Today I’m sharing the cover for The Soul Healer, book two in the Silver Moon Saga!! When I saw the cover in my inbox, I gasped. And then I freaked. And then I started shaking. It is gorgeous and amazing and exactly what I wanted. EXACTLY.

So are you ready (or did you already scroll down and aren’t even reading this?)?

Ahhhh!! See, I told you it’s gorgeous! The snow and the background and the font and GABI. LOVE IT. Huge thank you to Rue Volley for designing another stunner for me. And, because I always love it when other authors do this, here’s all three together:

Which is your favorite?

Here’s the blurb:

It’s been two months since Gabi Harkins first learned of demons and the mysterious hunters who battle them. After discovering a few unbelievable surprises about herself, she simply wants to settle into a normal routine that involves dating her boyfriend Rafe Fitzgerald, hanging out with her friends, and eating lots of dessert. But when her peaceful life is destroyed by the ultimate of betrayals, Gabi must rely on her wits—and a few new crazy friends—to survive her hardest challenges yet.

The sequel to The Sight Seer combines action, romance, and a healthy dose of humor as Gabi struggles to learn the truth about the secrets that surround her life.

You can add it to your Goodreads shelves here! It’ll be out April 11th, which is less than two months away! I honestly can’t wait for everyone to read this one. It’s dark but still funny, and introduces some of my favorite characters from the series. And there’s cake. And kissing. And all that fun stuff that Gabi would approve of.

thesoulhealer It’s going to look so nice on my bookshelf with the other two!

Now back to staring at my pretty cover–I mean, revising book three!
