Cover Reveal: Ballad of the Beanstalk

Hello! I’m so excited to share with you the cover for Amy McNulty’s new book, Ballad of the Beanstalk! This YA romantic fantasy fairy tale is a prequel to Jack and the Beanstalk. I read this one last year and it’s SO GOOD. And check out the amazing cover created by Makeready Designs.

As her fingers move across the strings of her family’s heirloom harp, sixteen-year-old Clarion can forget. She doesn’t dwell on the recent passing of her beloved father or the fact that her mother has just sold everything they owned, including that very same instrument that gives Clarion life. She doesn’t think about how her friends treat her like a feeble, brittle thing to be protected. She doesn’t worry about how to tell the elegant Elena, her best friend and first love, that she doesn’t want to be her sweetheart anymore. She becomes the melody and loses herself in the song.

When Mack, a lord’s dashing young son, rides into town so his father and Elena’s can arrange a marriage between the two youth, Clarion finds herself falling in love with a boy for the first time. Drawn to Clarion’s music, Mack puts Clarion and Elena’s relationship to the test, but he soon vanishes by climbing up a giant beanstalk that only Clarion has seen. When even the town witch won’t help, Clarion is determined to rescue Mack herself and prove once and for all that she doesn’t need protecting. But while she fancied herself a savior, she couldn’t have imagined the enormous world of danger that awaits her in the kingdom of the clouds.

A prequel to the fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk that reveals the true story behind the magical singing harp.

Title Reveal for Book 3!

Hello! I have some exciting news today. It’s time to reveal the title of the third book in the Smoke and Mirrors series. Are you ready?

Book three will be called…

THE WHISPERING ECHOES

What do you think? I’m rather fond of this one, and I think it goes nicely with The Fading Dusk and The Burning Chaos.

So, I really can’t tell you much about the book. I’d share the blurb, but I need to finish writing it it’s full of spoilers. Here’s what I can say about The Whispering Echoes:

  • It starts off right where The Burning Chaos left off.
  • Claudette and Emile from By the Morning Light are indeed in this book.
  • You might need tissues…

You can go ahead and add The Whispering Echoes to your Goodreads to-read list. And, as always, there’s a Pinterest board!

The Whispering Echoes will be released in 2017! Stay tuned for an official book release date and a cover reveal!

Everything You Need to Know About BY THE MORNING LIGHT

Hello lovelies! How are you doing? I know, I know, I’ve been pretty quiet over here, but that’s because I’ve been very busy working on the Smoke and Mirrors series. The series is now one book longer than I planned (and three books longer than I originally planned!) and I’m about to get started on the first draft of the second novella, but that’s not what this post is about.

Today is all about BY THE MORNING LIGHT.

By the Morning Light - Melissa Giorgio - eBook - S

The first novella in the Smoke and Mirrors series takes place in a different city with a completely different cast of characters. I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating: You can read this one without reading THE FADING DUSK or THE BURNING CHAOS. You can read it before them, or you can read it after them. You just need to read it before book three (which won’t be out until next year, so you have some time). I won’t say why, so you’ll just have to trust me. 😉

What’s that? You want to read it NOW? Well, I have a special treat for you! BY THE MORNING LIGHT has been posted to WattPad and you can start reading today! The whole novella is there, so you don’t have to worry about getting sucked into the story, only to discover only four chapters have been posted.

Despite this, I am still releasing it on Amazon and Barnes and Noble as both an ebook and paperback. You can preorder the ebook from Amazon. (Paperback and Barnes and Noble links to come!) What’s so special about this version? Well, it comes with an exclusive short story that you won’t be able to find anywhere else. I’m a little bias since it’s about one of my favorite characters, but I think you should read it. 😉

Too pretty!

I hope you enjoy BY THE MORNING LIGHT. This is the book I never planned to write and it holds a special place in my heart.

Happy reading!

The Burning Chaos is here!

The Burning Chaos_Final-high

I’m very happy to announce the ebook of THE BURNING CHAOS has arrived! You can get it at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble. The print will be following shortly and I’ll post again when I get those links!

Curious about the series, but haven’t read the first book yet? Well, you’re in luck because THE FADING DUSK is on sale for just 99 cents! You can also find it on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Here’s a peek at the first page of the ebook. Don’t you love the dragon? It was illustrated by my talented friend Merritt!

Nobody’s Lady is here!

Nobody's Lady Smaller

Nobody’s Lady, the second book in the Never Veil trilogy, is here! The second book in Amy McNulty’s series picks up right where the first one left off, answering all of your burning questions! I really loved this one. It was interesting seeing how the villagers act now that the curse on their village has been broken. For some of them, it’s like meeting entirely new characters altogether! Impossible to put down, you’ll find yourself racing through the pages. But watch out for that ending…

You can find the ebook of Nobody’s Lady on Amazon! (And you can also preorder the paperback!) And if you’re completely new to the Never Veil world, now is the perfect time to buy the ebook of Nobody’s Goddess, as it’s on sale for 99 cents!

Happy Reading!

Fun Fact: I helped come up with the title for this book (and book three, Nobody’s Pawn!). 🙂

Cover Reveal: Nobody’s Lady

I’m so excited to share the cover for the next book in Amy McNulty’s Never Veil series, Nobody’s Lady! I think I love this one ever more than the first one. Take a look and tell me what you think!

Nobody's Lady Smaller

Gorgeous, right? I love Noll’s expression!

For the first time in a thousand years, the men in Noll’s village possess the freedom to love whom they will. In order to give each man the chance to fully explore his feelings, the lord of the village decrees all marriages null and void until both spouses declare their love for one another and their desire to wed again. What many women think will be a simple matter becomes a source of village-wide tension as most men decide to leave their families and responsibilities behind.

Rejected by the lord and ashamed of her part in the village’s history, Noll withdraws from her family and lives life as an independent woodcarver. This changes when her sister accuses her of hiding her former husband Jurij from her—and when Jurij eventually does ask to move in. Determined not to make the same mistakes, Noll decides to support her male friends through their new emotional experiences, but she’s soon caught up in a darker plot than she ever dared imagine possible from the men she thought she knew so well. And the lord for whom she still has feelings may be hiding the most frightening truth of them all.

I’ve read this one and it’s fantastic, folks. Mark your calendars; it’s out April 12th. That’s not too far away!!

Add the book to your Goodreads page!

You can also preorder the paperback (and hold that beautiful cover in your hands and drool over it)!

No, I haven’t forgotten about this blog.

WHAT? AN UPDATE? HOW CAN THAT BE?!?!

Yes, I’m fully aware that I pretty much suck when it comes to updating this blog. This is what happens when I’m writing and editing. I tend to forget about things like my blog or my Facebook page. It’s bad but it’s also good because it means I’m busy!

So what have I been up to? Earlier this year I wrote the second book in the Smoke and Mirrors series (I really need to reveal the title of that soon!). It, sadly, was not perfect (not that I expected it to be, but that would have been nice!) and required a bit of editing/deleting/rewriting and all that fun stuff. I wrote the ending three times before I got it right, but guess what? I might go back and change it again! Why? One of the things I like to do to get to know new characters is write short stories from their POVs. In the Smoke and Mirrors series, I introduce new characters in book 2 and even MORE new characters in book 3 (which is still an outline at this point!). Sometimes it’s hard for me to throw a character in the middle of another character’s story (in this case, Irina’s story). I want to know who this other character is, but it’s hard to get inside of their head when I’m writing strictly from another character’s POV. So that’s why they get their own short stories (Phil’s story in A Promise of Magic is a perfect example of this. I wrote that story BEFORE I wrote The Soul Healer, even though it takes place AFTER that novel! It really helped me get a feel for both him and Kain, which is why I didn’t have any trouble writing them in The Soul Healer. I already knew, for example, that Phil was a picky eater and that Kain liked to say foolish things.). I decided in October to write a story from the POV of  a character that will make her first appearance in book 3. It started off as a little project, but now it’s evolved into this much bigger story that’s given me a ton of new ideas for book 3. The only problem is I now have to go back and tweak some things in book 2. I don’t think it’ll be too many changes, though! It’s just a lot of work during the craziest time of the year. I’m hoping once things calm down in January I’ll be able to wrap everything up and polish the short story so it’s ready to be shared soon after I publish book 2. And then I’ll get to work on book 3, which I actually cannot wait to start writing, all because I decided to write this short story.

So that’s where I am, writing wise. I’d been hoping to write two novels this year, but I’m happy with one novel and one short story (which will hopefully not be THAT long, but who knows with me). I can’t make any promises about no longer neglecting this blog and I want to thank everyone who’s still sticking around to read my random rambles. You’re awesome.

Also, The Fading Dusk went on a blog tour! If you’re interested in reading my interviews, some excerpts from the novel, and all the lovely reviews that were posted, then check out this link!
